La Plata City Lake/Reservoir
Located 2 ½ miles east on State Highway 156 from US Hwy 63 and then ½ mile south on Leopard Avenue.
The lake consists of approximately 81 acres of fishing which is managed by the Missouri Department of Conservation. Fish species include black bass, catfish, crappie, and sun fish.
The daily boat launching fee is $2 which may be paid at the drop box provided at the lake. A yearly boat launching fee of $25 may be paid for at the La Plata City Hall located at 113 S. Gex Street, La Plata, MO 63549.
The area has 20 new campsites which were added in 2019 and have electric and water hookups as well as an onsite dump station. There are also 10 other campsites located at the entrance of the lake which have electric and water hookups. The cost of camping is $15 per night or $7 for primitive (no electric/water hookups) camping. New picnic tables at each campsite. Fire pits are also available at several of the campsites. The area also has a new playground area for the children as well as a picnic area with pavilion.
